Tatanka's Story...
Tatanka will melt your heart, like she did her foster mama's! She was rescued from a basement parking lot in the Bronx, meowing and starving, with her 5 brothers and sisters. Her rescuer has fostered her and her siblings since, so this 10 week old kitty is completely house-ready! She is like a little mighty mouse--she helps foster mama cook, keeps her company during litter-cleaning, and nests herself in mamas hair in bed each morning! And Tatanka is a talker! She's the tiniest one in the bunch - it's hilarious to hear this big squawk from that tiny head! Tatanka would love to go home with one of her siblings (her tabby and black kitten brothers), or to a home with other pets. The rest of the litter all have great homes already :) Come meet Tatanka today and make her your new best friend!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tatanka, a New York City Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in New York City, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in New York City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York City paves the way for another one to be saved.
