Luna's Story...
LUNA, Once Emaciated, Now Thriving, is all ready to be ADOPTED!

Quakertown, PA - LUNA fka Snowball - TINY BLACK PITBULL MIX was once emaciated, and is now thriving, thanks to her foster home. Here is what her foster family had to say about lovely Luna: "Luna is a sweet little dog from a Philadelphia shelter. She is on a road to recovery from being emaciated. We have been fostering her for about a month, and she has been gaining weight fast. She loves to cuddle, lick and hug uncontrollably. All she wants is your undivided attention, so a home with a dog who doesn’t mind sharing you with another dog would do her well. She is good with our cat, she is just a little curious about him sometimes. Because she was starved at one point in her life, Luna can be a little protective of her food bowl, so her ideal home should be with kids who are 12 and up, who can understand to respect a dog when she is eating. Luna just wants to love you with all her heart and hopes you will love her too" Luna is spayed, up to date on her shots and chipped, and is all ready for her forever home. To meet Luna, please contact AmsterDog at amsterdog@gmail.com or fill out our online application at www.amsterdog.org and thanks for caring about a dog in need!

Snowball is an emaciated stray dog who needs to leave our shelter immediately! Snowball (28018467) is a 5-6 year old, small, black and white pitbull mix who was picked up and animal control officer and brought into our shelter. Snowball is incredibly thin and did come up positive for hook, whip, and roundworms. That may be the reason she is so thin, but with stray dogs it is hard to tell. What we can tell you is that she is a gentle, sweet, and loving dog! It is just amazing how loving and curious she is. She just melts like butter when you interact with her. All the dogs we have here deserve the best homes possible, but this baby really is an angel. You simply have to take this amazing dog home!

Please contact AmsterDog at amsterdog@gmail.com or message 917 689 8414 if you can foster or adopt sweet Snowball and Thanks for caring for a dog in need!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Luna, a New York American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in New York, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
