Adriene's Story...
Adriene is a one-year-old, very healthy, devoted and affectionate Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who came into the city shelter as a "stray." Initially timid and frightened in the pound, Adriene has flowered into a totally delightful dog when finally rescued and going to one of our loving, experienced foster homes. Adriene is HOUSEBROKEN, GREAT WITH KIDS, CATS AND OTHER DOGS. She would be an ideal dog for an active family or home with other pets. Adriene likes to "retrieve" balls and lives to please her people. She is a vibrant, young beauty who simply seeks those who can appreciate and reciprocate her love. Could that be you? If interested in sweet Adriene, please CALL us (not email!) at (212) 427-8273. Adriene has many years of loyalty and love to give to the right people!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Adriene, a New York Rhodesian Ridgeback/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Labrador Retriever for sale in New York, or seeking a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rhodesian Ridgeback/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Rhodesian Ridgeback/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
