My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Herman is approx 2-3 yrs old and 30 lbs. He looks like a schnauzer /terrier mix. He is a very well behaved and quiet dog, a little timid at first he tends to keep to himself. He is not one for running and playing with the other dogs. He just prefers to hang out. He was treated for heart worms which takes 4-6 months to test clear (we guarantee this), and has been started on a monthly heart worm preventative. He seems to be quite well house and leash trained and is so quiet you forget he is around. He probably would do better in an all adult or older children household that is quiet. He is going to be a very loyal companion for someone.

If you live in MA, there are new requirements for rescue dogs - according to the State Law, all rescues have to be quarantined for 48 hrs at the Ben Elder Kennels in Westport, MA. There is additional cost for this quarantine and new required health cert by a licensed MA vet of $110. We will go over all fees with you via email. Also, The state of MA does not allow adoptions of dogs that are heart worm positive. We are required to do a foster to adopt until the dog tests heart worm negative, usually in 4-6 months after treatment.
