My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SMOKE & CINDER
3 years old, Male & Female, British Blue Shorthair Mixes, Bonded Siblings
MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER

COURTESY POST: Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

Smoke and Cinder have quite a story to tell. They lived happily in San Francisco as indoor kitties when one day their original owners moved and simply dropped them off at a high kill shelter where these two little bonded young cats were put on death row. Thankfully, a lady rescued them from euthanasia, but had planned on taking them home and turning them into barn cats.

Though being alive is obviously more desirable than being euthanized, turning indoor kitties into barn cats with the high potential of their getting attacked by coyotes is not a desirable solution, and as the story goes, the woman and the kitties needed to be evacuated because of the Wragg fire, hence their names Smoke and Cinder.

During this traumatic event, these poor and now thoroughly scared kitties endured several hours in a kitty carrier until their current, very kind caretaker took them in and asked us to help find them a loving, caring foster or forever home.

Smoke, the bigger of the two, is starting to come out of his shell. His sister Cinder is still very shy and will curl up right next to her brother to seek his protection when she becomes scared. However, both of them are very accepting of being petted. They love their tummies rubbed and will purr, purr, purr to indicate their happiness at being cared for. They are very quiet, low maintenance little cats who are content with each other’s company. They would so appreciate a kindhearted human who can give them space until they can unfold and blossom.

Both kitties are up to date on their shots and are spayed and neutered. They are litter box perfect.
If you would like more information about this wonderful pair, please contact Frauke at 925-784-8244 or loveallcats7@gmail.com or send an Adoption Application.

Please note that Smoke and Cinder are not in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home but residing with their caretaker in Winters, CA, while being placed in their new home. Special adoption fee.
