Ace is a beautiful 1 yr old staffordshire pit  who was a victim to what appears to be dog fighting. He is not aggressive to kids, people, food or other dog's... NO CATS!!!!  Something about him and the look in his eyes captured my heart INSTANTLY. He was picked up as a stray off the streets. Believe it or not, hes HW negative not sure how he managed to dodge that seeing everything else hes been through in his short life =( His right ear was shredded up and infested with maggots, his inner left elbow has a huge gash as well.  I have a friend who is really involved in helping the medical cases with SAPA along with alot of other thing and she was nice enough to scrub his ear up and treat his wounds. His ear defiantly needed to go. It smelt of death and was just hanging flesh. He had his surgery on 07-05-15. He had his right ear amputated, upper k9s removed, and his neuter and chip done all at the same time. I had him on antibiotics and pain meds around the clock as directed and with lots of TLC he's all better now. Ace is also deaf btw. I would love for Ace to go to a loving family who wont keep him outside all the time and love him as one of their own. Im willing to help in anyway i can. I want to make sure he goes where its best for HIM. Hes a sweetheart, I cant say it enough.

About San Antonio Pets Alive

About Our Rescue Group...

San Antonio Pets Alive (SAPA!) is a new organization that will be modeled after the very successful Austin Pets Alive (APA). APA was instrumental in helping Austin achieve their goal of no longer euthanizing healthy, adoptable pets from the city shelter. SAPA has teamed up with Animal Care Services in order for the city of SA to reach their no-kill goal.

In partnership with San Antonio’s Animal Care Services, we are implementing innovative and progressive programs to:

Rescue as many pets as possible off of the daily “euthanasia list”. In our rescue program, to not duplicate work of other agencies, we focus solely on the pets who have already been passed over by other groups and the shelters’ adoption programs and create programs to save their lives and find them new homes.

Our rescue program is focused 100% on the dogs and cats who are about to be killed. We wait until the shelters have chosen the pets they want for their adoption programs and other rescue groups have pulled the pets that they can take, then we go in and rescue the rest that we can fit into our programs.
