My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bentley's adoption fee is $350.

Bentley is a wonderful mixed Yorkshire Terrier of medium build weighing around 17 1/2 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and has been micro chipped. He has a beautiful grey coat of fur with streaks of brown around his face and ears. Well trained to tell you when he needs to go out, he also knows basic commands like sit and down and to come when called. He seems quite intelligent and receptive to other training, and his new owner should be prepared to continue working with him on expected behaviors.

He almost never barks even when outside. He loves to go for walks and is learning not to pull on his leash when meeting other dogs or people. Once he knows another dog, he becomes quite playful as he is with our own half mixed Yorkie, Samba. But while Bentley likes to play he also enjoys being in his crate when is left alone at home or at bedtime.

Bentley is in good health but has a few challenges such as becoming skittish at sudden loud noises or being somewhat nervous when going down and up stairs. This latter behaviour has improved greatly through gentle exposure to stairs.

Above all Bentley is a very affectionate and extremely laid back dog. He will follow you about the place lying quietly down by your feet or beside you on the couch. He obviously likes to be near you but unlike some dogs, not annoyingly so. He can be picked up and cuddled despite his size and when he stares at you with his loving brown eyes you too cannot help but feel at ease. Bentley is one of the calmest and most relaxed dogs we have ever known.
