My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Wheaten Terrier/Schnauzer mix is a perfect combo for those with who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal family dog. They're famous for their great temperaments and very loving and snuggly ways (and they look just like little cuddly teddy bears!). They do require a certain amount of exercise (don't all dogs?) and truly love being with their people. If a family hike is the order of the day - count them in! These mixes are known to love some fun in the Colorado mountains or in neighborhood parkss...and then crash on the couch for some serious hanging out and snuggling close.

Marnie is an adorable and engaging girl who favors the fun-loving qualities of the Schnauzer while taking on the look of the Wheaten Terrier. It's difficult to tell in Marnie's shelter photo exactly how cute she is and we're told that it absolutely doesn't do her justice. A new hairdo is in this beautiful girl's future! Marnie appears to be a non-shedding (or perhaps very lightly shedding pup..we'll have to watch as her coat grows in with the benefit of periodic baths/brushing/grooming/ and great nutrition).

Marnie's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...she makes playmates everywhere she goes. Marnie is outgoing and social (once she's comfortable in a situation) and that means everyone she meets can ultimately becomes a friend. You know when a loved one approaches, Marnie's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through her entire body ending in a smile. And if your lap is available, up Marnie goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of her devotion.

Marnie is such a wonderful being...we think she represents the best qualities of the Terrier/Schnauzer mix.. At about 12 - 18 months old and 21 lbs (such a perfect size...small enough to take along just about anywhere and large enough to have the ability to be an active and present best friend), Marnie seems to have left behind the neglect and lack of love that made up her early life. She has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier her family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments.

We would like to see Marnie in a home that includes her in family time and activities...she's a sensitive girl and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member. Marnie would be a wonderful companion for retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young dog. Marnie doesn't require another dog to be happy...but does enjoy her canine relationships with kind and gentle like-sized dogs.

Marnie will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/7/15. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
