My story

Hello! My name is Misty. I am 3-year-old spayed female Dachshund/Chihuahua mix. I weigh in at just under 9 pounds.

I'm sweet and loving with a zest for life! Nothing can bring me down. I've always got a great big smile on my face and wagging tail.

I am an outgoing, playful, happy pup with lots of love to share. Despite being considered an adult, I'm pretty active and would really love a family that is willing to do all kinds of activities with me. Outdoors or indoors - it doesn't matter to me! Let's just have some fun together!

I get along great with everybody I meet - dogs and people alike! I'm always looking to make new friends! I can't tell you how happy it would make me to have you as my new best friend. What do you say?

I came to Cagefree by way of a local high-kill shelter. My previous family dumped me at the shelter like I was a piece of trash. They gave no reason for abandoning me and they never looked back as they pulled out of the parking lot. Isn't that sad? I'm not going to let it affect me, though. If they couldn't see how amazing I am, then they don't deserve to have me! My human companions tell me that they are working really hard to find me a new home and this time it will be forever. I'm so grateful that they found me and have made it their mission to see that I have the best life possible once I'm adopted.
