My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Why Choose me?

Update 8/15/15: Sebastian is a volunteer and staff favorite, at least in part because it's obvious he had a very confusing life before coming to the shelter. Sebastian is an absolutely handsome almost pure-white boy, but for all his good looks and despite being an owner surrender, it's obvious that he didn't have much quality human interaction/socialization before coming to the shelter. Staff and volunteers say that they really enjoy working with him and helping him to open up because it's so obvious that he wants to be petted and wants attention. They say he's just a bit awkward. For instance, if you approach his cage he'll often reach out to you with a paw or roll over on his back asking for a belly rub or start making biscuits, but if you move too fast sometimes he'll hiss. The funny thing is that the hiss seems almost be more of a knee-jerk reaction than anything. I watched one of the staff (who definitely loves this big guy) reach in to pet him and he hissed a bit, and unflinching she responded "You don't mean that" and continued to pet him. He almost seemed embarrassed, as if he was saying "Oh yeah, you're right. I didn't mean that!" Sebastian is sort of the underdog (undercat?) at the shelter right now. We're all rooting for him, and we're positive that all he needs is an owner with a little patience and compassion, and he'll be a perfect house cat! He's come a long way from when he was first such a fearful boy in the shelter, so we hope someone will see how much love he has to offer and take him home.

8/4/15: Sebastian is just as handsome as they come. He’s mostly white, and he keeps himself looking pristine. While neutered male cats often have difficulty managing their weight, Sebastian is pretty much all muscle. When he first came to the shelter, he wasn’t listed as available immediately because he was quite fearful, but shelter staff and volunteers have worked with him and he’s now very friendly and quite vocal. He is certain to make sure that all visitors know he is there and that he wants them to come see him. That said, he is not a fan of other cats, so he will either need to be an only cat or his adoptive family will have to work with him to integrate him into their family. We are not sure how he is with dogs. Come see this handsome boy soon; a cramped cage is no place for a big boyo like him!
