Chico's Story...
Can you just imagine this teenie-tiny guy out on the streets all alone? Well, that's what happened to our little friend Chico but luckily, he was picked up by our AHS Newark animal control officers and brought to safety. When no one ever came to claim this little guy, Chico came down to our facility to begin his search for a new home. Chico is a little over a year old and would love a great home with a family that will care for him. He is a little shy when you first meet him, but Chico warms up to you quickly and is happy to crawl up in your lap for a snooze. He is very well behaved and walks like a perfect gentleman on a leash. Chico is also perfect for grooming and very gentle. He doesn't have a lot of interest in toys but is always up for playing a little or going for a leisurely stroll. Chico gets along beautifully with other well behaved dogs and would make the perfect addition to any loving family that will give him the lifetime of happiness that he deserves. File#25035 7/2/15

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chico, a Forked River Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
