My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

His brothers, Harold and BlueNote, have found their forever home. Poor Melvin could not begin his search for a forever family until he got rid of a cold and was able to be neutered. Well he's good to go now and is going to be so happy to find a place of his own. He loves other dogs so having a canine companion would be great. He gets along wonderfully with our cats. We have not seen Melvin around children but he has a very gentle nature so he should do ok with kids. Melvin is an agreeable and pleasant fellow. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people but opens up quickly. He is definitely more confident when other dogs are around. Melvin is good in the house but does bark some, so he might not be suited for apartment living. He is crate-trained and housebroken. Melvin enjoys our walks and does very well on leash. He likes to be held and gives sweet kisses. Melvin is 1 year old and weighs 13 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his shots. He has tested negative for heartworms and is on monthly preventatives for heartworms, fleas and ticks. If you would like to meet Melvin, the first step in our adoption process is the application.
