My basic info
Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We have a dark ebony male chinchilla that is looking for his new home. He came to the rescue not long ago, and we estimate he was born approx. 3/23/2015, which would make him right around 4 months old.
This boy is super easy to catch and does well with being handled and petted. He alternates between being content to be held and petted, to wanting to explore the world around him. He’s very outgoing and curious, and is always at the front of the cage, wanting to see what’s going on. He would likely love playtime (when he is old enough) so he could continue to explore new things. He loves bouncing around in his cage, but he’s pretty calm when being held. He doesn’t bite.
We don’t know if he gets along with other chinchillas, though if this is something you are curious about, we’ll be happy to try to pair him up with one of ours, or one of yours.
This chinchilla would make a good “first chinchilla” for someone who’s never had chinchillas before.
This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (2 pounds of Tradition pellets), a goodie bags of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. They will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.
Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet, fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire, and provide proof of cage. If you are unwilling to do these things, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.
