My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ROSELLE is a 4 year old spayed black female Lab who weighs 43 pounds. She is a little shy and everything is new to her. Since we got her she has gone from staying in the back of her room so no one would notice her to coming up front so she can go out and play with the other Lab rescue pups. The Animal Care folks says she has started to respond to their petting and changes when she is with one of the other dogs so she must go with another dog. ory Good with other dogs. Unknown with cats. Knows sit and come, working on other commands. New to walking on lead as she probably hasn't been on one much May be housebroken as she is keeping her run clean at shelter & vet. Roselle must go to a home with another dog. She is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update (9/15): This girl is capturing our hearts more and more everyday! We are talking serious love and heart eyes. I am not sure how she will do with cats but I did see her VERY interested in a squirrel. She would do best with a family with other dogs, girlfriend loves her pack. does great on the leash, even when walking with multiple dogs. She loves to play (especially stuffed animal toys!) and to nap. She can be a bit more apprehensive about men, but we are working on that! She stays in a crate during the day and is fine with it (especially when she gets her frozen peanut butter kong!)

Roselle was a stray to a shelter we work with, she was pregnant when she came in. She had her puppies which another rescue took when they were old enough. The shelter asked if we could help her.

Update (8/23): Roselle aka Rosie is doing great. She is so cute! She enjoys following me around the house. We are still working with her on her time in the crate. The peanut butter kong has been awesome! She likes my two resident Labs. Roselle seems to prefer submissive dogs. We have been playing around the house and going on some car rides. She has been really starting to warm up to my husband. We are really enjoying having her with us and we know her forever family will fall in love with her!

Update (8/17):A check in from Roselle! I am loving being with my foster family. I have tried a lot of new things!
Things I love: - being with my foster dog siblings - running around in the yard - attention and petting (but you have to go slow because I am very timid) - toys (but watch out, because I hoard them and they are now only mine!) - swimming (crab shells are scary!) - going to work with my foster mom - sleeping with my pack - comfy dog beds! - when someone is with me
Things I am learning to love: - spending time in my crate - getting used to this new food - stairs, especially hardwood - baths - learning new manners
My foster family is still getting to know me but loves my quiet disposition. I am a very sweet girl, everyone talks about my cute face! I love to play but also love to relax. I am 3 and very small but hopefully that will change when I gain more weight (should be around 50 lbs.). I am still looking for a loving, patient family! Update (8/14): Roselle is doing great in her foster home. She was a little shy when she first arrived but instantly perked up when she saw my two male Labs. She definitely needs to go to a home with another dog. We are already falling in love with her. She is so sweet! She slept great last night on a dog bed in our room. More as we get to know sweet Roselle better.

Update (8/7): Roselle arrived today in her foster home and is settling in nicely with the resident crew of Bode and Pennie. She is a bit shy and was a little scared on the ride here, but she still rode nicely in the car. We will share more as we get to know her better, today she's just been going in and out with the other pups enjoying the backyard, she seems to love running around in it
