Zoey is such a special girl with boundless energy! She loves EVERYONE and is never happier than when in the company of her special people! All this girl wants is a snuggle on the sofa... interspersed with a game of fetch in a fenced yard! Fetch is her FAVORITE thing! She is smaller, only about 45lbs, and about 4 years old. Zoey must be the only pet in the home, and must have a fenced yard (not invisible fence... real fence). Oh also? She'll totally wear the antler headband at Christmas for the family photos.

Zoey previously earned her ‘Canine Good Citizen’ certification while training/boarding at K9 Top Performance. Zoey is crate trained and UTD with her shots. Come meet this great gal today!

About Red Hook Dog Rescue (NNE)

About Our Rescue Group...

Red Hook Dog Rescue is a labour of love, rescuing literally one "forgotten" dog at a time from long-term boarding situations and finding them great homes in Northern New England.

People so often focus on animals on "death row" at kill shelters, they forget what happens to those dogs once they are "rescued". Many times, they end up just being stuck in boarding, in some cases for years at a time. A kennel is not a home.

We are a tiny, tiny rescue. We do not accept owner surrenders, though if you are having trouble keeping your pet we are always happy to talk to you and help you look for solutions to either keep your pet, or find a responsible place for the pet to go.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an adoption application and home visit, as well as vet reference checks. Our adoption fee is $250 and there is an adoption contract.

We sometimes require novice dog owners to attend one-on-one training/obedience classes with a local trainer (at no cost to the adopter).

All our animals for adoption are spayed/neutered, healthy, and up to date on shots. All have at least basic obedience training (housetrained, crate trained, know "sit" and "down").
