Facts about Sadie

  • Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Sadie was turned into a rural pound in February 2014. Her mentally challenged owner surrendered her to the kill facility because she had bed kicked by a horse, injuring her rear leg and he cold not care for her. She languished there for 3 weeks with no medical treatment until she was pulled by the neighboring pound because they would provide the care she needed. Sadie had suffered a dislocated hip and broken head of the femur, both which were manipulated back in place manually by a veterinarian. After 3 weeks kennel rest, Sadie went to a foster home bus was soon returned when she fought with one of the other dogs in the home.

Sadie was then boarded for almost 6 weeks before another foster was found. Being a Staffordshire Terrier , 3 years old and not good around other dogs made finding the right place difficult. The foster hoped to work with her and perhaps adopt her if she could be incorporated into the home. Sadie Stayed there for almost a year when the foster became ill and suddenly could not keep her any longer. She then admitted she had been keeping Sadie in a crate and simply rotating her in and out of the yard with her other dogs because they never got along.

After a frantic search for a foster, none was found and the fear that she would have to be euthanized became a real possibility. Finally, a trainer stepped up and offered to take her in to her boarding/training facility and work with her on her social skills..Sadie has now been there for 5 weeks and has done extremely well in her training on manners but it has been determined that Sadie needs to be in a home without other animals..

She is sweet , happy, loves to ride in a car, adores toys and playing ball, is affectionate with people, but simply does not like other animals. She is fully vetted, housebroken, and energetic at 4 years of age. She is becoming depressed in the boarding environment and truly needs to finally find the one special home all her own.
