My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My story is a little long but I hope you will take the time to read it and learn more about me. I was pulled from the shelter as a 3 month old pup along with my sister. I was so happy to be out of the shelter. I was taken to a new home and got to see the doctor and sleep in a nice, quiet environment. My sister was adopted out very quickly and I was so happy for her. However, my foster mom was concerned because occasionally I would lose control of my back legs and I was not getting the potty training down. I was taken to see a special doctor who said I have a spinal defect. Surgery was an option but there was 50% chance it would do more harm than good. I continued to have control issues with my back legs and when I went poop. This was almost two years ago. As I have gotten older and stronger I no longer have issues with control issues on my back legs. However, on occasion, I still will poop without realizing what I was doing.

Recently, a change in my diet has helped immensely with my potty habits. Also, I have been put on a strict eating and potty schedule and I rarely have accidents any more. I am able to spend hours at a time in the house without incident. With the correct family who is willing to keep me on my schedule, I should be able fit into a normal household. I get along well with other dogs and seem to not mind cats. I also do very well in the car. So what do you say? With the right home, I will be an amazing and loyal family pet. If you can fulfill my dreams and needs, please email info@habitat4paws.org for more information.

**Because we require home visits, we only adopt locally to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For more on adoption policies, please see the Adopt page of our website, www.habitat4paws.org.
