Why Choose me?
I first saw Debo just a few minutes after he arrived, and he was leaning against an animal control staffer’s legs, half sliding towards the floor to assume the belly rub position – hint hint! About 30 minutes later we took Debo out for pictures and video and he was still angling for belly rubs. We were starting to wonder if we would ever get him to stand up long enough for a picture! But then another volunteer brought Mazie into the adjoining pen, and Debo jumped right up for some fun time. Mazie was a little intimidated by his size and boisterousness, but Debo won her over with pure goofy-ness, and they started playbowing and running along the fence together. Debo is a strong, beefy looking boy, but surprisingly easy to walk on leash. He’s here because his owner is moving and can’t take him, but said that Debo is up-to-date on shots, lives outside but can hangs out inside with incident and has been fine around young children. He hasn’t lived with other dogs, but was fine when a small dog who came to visit. Debo is about a year and a half old so he’s still got a happy puppy brain in that big body – which makes him a very entertaining guy!
