POPPI is a twelve pound, nine year old male Shih Tzu who was found has a stray. Because he had been microchipped, his owners were able to be located. But they didn’t want him and they had just thrown him out to fend for himself! When he was found he was very matted and filthy so he had to be shaved down. He was also very hungry. We can’t imagine anyone not wanting this wonderful little boy. He is easy going and adjusts well to new situations. He loves to explore outside, walks well on a leash and enjoys going on daily walks. But he also enjoys long naps any time of day. He likes to be with his person and he is content to curl up and sleep by your feet rather than on your lap. He sleeps all night in his own bed next to his foster parents’ bed. Poppi does well with house training and rarely barks. He gets along well with other small dogs but would also do well as an only dog. He prefers adults and older respectful children.
Poppy has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, is microchipped and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. He does have a grade 3 heart murmur, but it does not require any treatment or limitations. He has a small growth on an eyelid that also does not require any treatment at this time. Having both issues checked at his yearly exams should be just fine. His foster parents would prefer his adoptive home to be within 100 miles of the Twin Cities. His adoption fee is $120.00 plus sales tax of $8.73 for a total of $128.73.
