My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SAXOPHONE
5 year old, Male, Silver with Black Spots, Purebred Ocicat

Saxophone and his best buddy Mozart were surrendered by their owner, not because these two fabulous boys were difficult to have around, but the older cat just didn’t want to play nice with them. An older cat is more difficult to rehome, so the owner surrendered this bonded pair and asked us if we can find them a loving forever home.

Here is some information on this special cat breed: Ocicats are a gene mix of Abyssinians and Siamese with a little American Shorthair thrown in. There is no recent wild ancestry in them as there is in Bengals. They are simply domestic cats bred to look like spotted jungle cats. These kitties are especially smart and are especially trainable. Many become leash trained. They need playful activities and play companions whether children, other cats, or dogs, etc. Their smart brain needs to be challenged and entertained daily. They are all about companionship and activity. They love humans.

Ocicats find joy and play in everything and will steal items off your desk to discover their entertainment value. You may need to get childproof locks on your cabinets. These loving cats evidently are so close to their family that they can get separation anxiety when left with a sitter. If you are gone all day, they will need another pet to be their companion. They are intensely loyal to their families but also will run to the door to greet strangers. They need families that will be intensely loyal to them.

Saxophone’s foster mom describes him as very sensitive and devoted. He follows her around like a puppy and helps her with whatever chores she is doing. When she stops, he will rub her legs and sometimes meows to her so he can get her attention. He likes to sleep next to his human and is adept in performing summersaults over her feet to get to his food!

Saxophone loves to play with his toys and he enjoys looking out any windows or doors. He gets along with the resident cats. Since Saxophone and his buddy Mozart are a perfect pair of playmates and very bonded, they must be adopted together.

Saxophone is such a great kitty with a fabulous character, and if you are ever concerned about the cost of dental cleaning for a kitty, worry no more because he loves it when his human uses an electric tooth brush on his teeth! As soon as he hears the brush, he comes running into the bathroom! And we have pictures to prove it!

Saxophone loves wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect. He will come to you with a complete vet check.
He is being fostered in Elk Grove, near Sacramento.
