Sophie (Spayed)'s Story...
"Sophie" is a beautiful one-year old female Maine Coon mix kitty who arrived at the HSOV on April 20, 2015 along with her four 2-week old kittens (Samson, Sarge, Squirt, and Stanley). This little family was found in the Whipple, Ohio area and brought to the safety of our shelter. "Sophie" has a brown tabby long smooth coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with large golden eyes. She is a good mother to her four boys (three are brown/black tabby and one is gray). "Sophie" was understandably a little unsure of being in an unfamiliar place with her babies. Fortunately for "Sophie", one of our kind kennel techs took her home to foster the very same day she came to our shelter. .UPDATE: All of Sophie's kitten have now been adopted. "Sophie" was spayed on October 23, 2015 and was also given rabies vaccine. She would prefer a good indoor-outdoor home where she could enjoy her freedom but also a warm place to sleep at night.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophie (Spayed), a Marietta Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
