My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are helping Asante's owner re-home her (along with her brother Bruschi). Here is what her owner has to say about her:

Asante is an 8 year old Puggle, (Pug/Beagle mix). She weighs between 25-30 lbs.
She is spayed, up to date with her shots and microchipped. Asante sometimes has problems with her hind knees, typical of dogs her size.

Asante is well behaved and house broken. She knows basic commands such as sit, down and off. She also knows paw and leave it. She loves to follow her owner around the house to see what she is doing. Asante is extremely food motivated. So much so that sometimes she gets so excited and tries every trick in the book in the hopes that one of them will get her the treat!

Asante is great with people, but she does like to cuddle on her own terms. She’ll come to you when wants to, and go back to her pillow when she’s had enough. She gets very excited when people she knows come to visit. While she jumps up on people at times(we are working on that), she somehow seems to know to be gentle with her human 90 year old great grandmother. She has also done extremely well with the new baby in the house and this was the first baby she's encountered.

Asante walks well on the leash. Asante is very interested in other dogs and can generally get along with any dog. She does not like to be dominated though and will let the other dog know if they’ve overstepped a boundary. We would love for Asante and Bruschi to be re-homed together. They have spent almost their entire lives together and they really do love each other.

Do you have enough room in your heart and home for both sweet pups? They will love you unconditionally! If you are interested in Asante, please fill out an application and come meet her and Bruschi at our next adoption day event.
