TAFFY's Story...
What a precious little lady! She has the sweetest personality - good natured, active, friendly, happy and playful…just a great little gal. When I let her outside she runs laps around the yard just as fast as her little legs will take her and when she’s done for a minute, she will come to a sliding stop at my feet and either lay down or roll over for a little tummy rub. She loves people and gets along with other dogs and cats. When Taffy came to me she had two darling little puppies…the puppies have since been adopted, now it’s her turn to be the center of attention and to find her own loving family. I’m not sure what she is mixed with…could be Maltese, Poodle or Bichon …maybe even something else. I do know one thing though, she is adorable. She is 2 years old and weighs 9-10 pounds, has been spayed, heartworm tested, current on all vaccinations, worming, heartworm and flea prevention. Her adoption fee is $400.

Taffy is being fostered in Tennessee. Our rescue ships to the New England area every week and her fee does include transportation. The dogs are transported by a professional dog transport company. Due to state laws, we do not adopt to Maine residents.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

TAFFY, a Hartford Shih Tzu/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Maltese for sale in Hartford, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Maltese dog from a breeder in Hartford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hartford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hartford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Maltese breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hartford paves the way for another one to be saved.
