My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SISSY is an 8 year old spayed chocolate female Lab who weighs 88 pounds. She is a very sweet and pretty girl. She has been a breeder dog her entire life. She is very friendly, social, and smart, but she's startled by loud noises. Sissy loves to give you her paw. Sissy needs to go to a home with a fenced in yard. She lived on a farm and enjoys spending time exploring outside. Sissy is great with other dogs. She is also good with cats. Sissy is approved for kids ages 10+.
NOTE: Sissy comes from a rural area and is not approved for apartment/townhouse/condo living

Update (8/28) Sissy had a mammary mass removed. She's recovering well and is ready for visitors.

Update (8/17)Sissy's Snippets:
I've been at my foster home 5 days, so I've taught FM & FD a few things.
(1) I'm smart. (2) I don't like to be crated. I escaped (see #1). (3) I don't need to be crated. Put away food just in case, since I used to live on a farm, not in a house. I've proved myself trustworthy, so the crate was put away. (4) I sleep through the night. (5) I'm fairly low energy, but since I'm supposed to take it easy after my spay, I could just be in recovery mode. Will know more after my stitches come out next week. (6) I get along with dogs and cats. (7) See my sun-bleached look in this pic? I LOVE being outside unless it's hot. (FM won't sit out with me when it's hot anyway.)
(8) I LOVE getting attention. After 8 years as a breeder, why wouldn't I? (9) I greet you with a raised paw, almost a "high five!," when you reappear about an absence--into the basement or bathroom, out to the store. (10) I love FM and FD and my doggy and kitty foster siblings, but I'd like a home of my own. Call your AC, or fill out an application, if you think you'd like to meet me.

Update (8/14): SISSY has spent most of her 8 years having puppies. Now she's looking for a family to pamper her. In what was perhaps her first night in a house, she slept quietly in the bedroom with the rest of the pack. Sissy loves roaming the small yard and following the other dogs, but she's also happy to settle down near me in the house.
