Mayo's Story...
Sadly, summer is the absolute worst time for adult kitty adoptions. Too many kittens and too many people on vacation. And yet, we have the sweetest girl in need of a home. Meet Mayo, an all-white, short haired beauty. She is estimated to be around 10 or 12 years old and was brought into the Berkeley shelter as a stray. She is amazingly loving and super duper affectionate!

The shelter has taken care of some dental issues, run blood work, and checked to make sure there was no cancer on her ears. (Common in white cats who have spent too much time out in the sun.) She's officially healthy and ready to find herself a forever family.

Please consider Mayo. She is currently in Berkeley but very open to visitors!

For more information, contact Susan at BrightHaven: susanh@brighthaven.org.

Mayo is considered a Courtesy Listing. We offer our services to help other responsible rescue groups or individuals find good homes for cats in need. We have screened and interviewed each of the individuals before agreeing to post their cats.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mayo, a Novato Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Novato, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Novato.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Novato already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Novato breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Novato paves the way for another one to be saved.
