My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Songaa is an Australian Shepherd mix born around the end of February 2015, so he is about 6 months old at this time. He came into our rescue when he was only about 6 weeks old after being abandoned due to having a congenital problem known as Megaesophagus that makes it hard for him to swallow properly. His case is very mild, and he is easily managed, but we have no way of predicting if his condition will improve, get worse, or stay the same. So he needs a home willing to care for him no matter what the future holds. His foster mom is very experienced with managing this condition and is happy to give support his entire life. At this time he does very well eating out of an elevated feeder with his dry food ground up in a coffee grinder and pureed with some canned food and water in the blender to make it easier for him to swallow. His foster mom is also happy to teach anyone interested exactly how she has been preparing his food. He has been the easiest Megaesophagus dog she has cared for, and she has cared for quite a few.

Aside from that he is an active, happy, healthy boy who would make someone a great running partner, or would probably even enjoy doing agility, rally, or obedience. His foster mom has just started him in some obedience classes that are fully transferable to a new owner if they are not completed prior to adoption. Being an Aussie mix, he is a higher energy boy and needs a home willing to provide the exercise and mental stimulation this breed needs to remain happy. He knows his basics already and is a very obedient boy once you lay down the ground rules. Songaa is an adorable boy and is just waiting and hoping to find his forever home. 150.00 adoption fee.
