Puddles's Story...
Hi there, I'm Puddles, the world's sweetest, most adorable chatterbox! Oh, and did I mention I'm also in the running for the World's Largest Cat? I keep trying to tell the rescue that I am NOT fat, that I am JUST fluffy, but well... they don't believe me. Maybe because the scale tells a different story than I do? Well, the rescue says I would make a great kitty for a home where a) there are no other kitties because I am a food hog and would hog all of the other kitties' food and b) a home that understands that being this big is not healthy for me, and helps me watch my weight. The rescue has been working to slim me down, and I've lost one pound so far, but I have several more to go before I'm no longer considered "extra fluffy." But I'm so sweet, and such a sweet talker, that it's not very hard to have you eating out of the palm of my hand... er, putting treats in the palm of your hand for me to eat! Anyway, if you don't mind a little extra love to go around, I'm your girl!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Puddles, a Palatine Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Palatine, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Palatine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Palatine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Palatine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Palatine paves the way for another one to be saved.
