Tawny's Story...
With her great golden eyes and ginger-striped body, what better name could there be for this tiny tiger wannabe than Tawny? Born in an abandoned car to a feral mother, who nourished and nurtured her, she was ultimately placed in a warm, caring foster home, where she took her first feline steps towards loving and being loved by a person. Although still slightly cautious around new people, as soon as she warms up to them, she returns to being who she is now: a very playful, curious, and affectionate little kitten. Did we mention that she loves to purr? Currently being fostered in Huntsville, AL, all terrific Tawny needs to make her world complete is a forever home to cherish her as much as she will cherish them.

Tawny has been spayed, microchipped, tested negative for felv/fiv, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. She is fostered in Huntsville Al, but is not fussy about where she goes, as long as she is loved, and remains an indoor cat. If you are interested in adopting Tawny, please email info@forrescue.net, or better yet, fill out our adoption application at www.forrescue.net/cat-application.

Tawny, a Knoxville Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
