Foster parents have the first option to adopt. We will provide all you need to foster.
Weight: 20 lbs
Age: 2 years
Personality: Toby has a super wonderful personality! He is happy, energetic, playful, loving, loves people, dogs, and cats.
Coat: Non-shedding hypoallergenic coat requires regular bathing and grooming. Coat had to be shaved closely due to matting, but it will grow out beautifully. Poodles can be kept in a variety of cute hairstyles, from easy maintenance to fashionable.
Training: We highly recommend both dog and adopter regularly attend positive method training classes. Investing in the time to properly train your dog will reward you with a happy, well-behaved, well-adjusted dog.
Potty trained: Yes 90%
Health: Excellent
History: Sadly, Toby's owner died and he ended up in a high kill shelter on Jeju Island in S. Korea. He was brought to Southern California in order to find his forever home, since they prefer very small dogs in Korea. He had very little chance of finding a home in Korea and most likely would have been euthanized or sold to a dog meat farm.
Fostered in: Southern California
Type of home: Many home situations would be suitable for Toby, as long as his new adopter has time to spend with him, maintain a regular grooming schedule (usually every 6 weeks) and take him on regular walks.
Crate trained: No
Good with Dogs: Yes, good manners
Good with Kids: Yes, excellent
Good with Cats: Yes, loves them
Adoption fee (non-refundable): $300
All dogs are fully vetted, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations.
Our adoption process looks like this:
1. Adoption application review by WHDR board
2. Adoption application approval
3. Meet and greet
4. Home safety check
5. Final approval and adoption finalized
Our volunteers, donors and adopters mean the world to us! Without you, we couldn't do what we do - saving the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned dogs and providing them with a loving forever home.
