Pixie's Story...
Pixie is a 2 year old female lab mix. She was surrendered to a rural shelter in NC. It was evident that she had recently had puppies but no puppies were surrendered with her. Pixie is doing well with housetraining, even learning to ring a bell when she has to go out! She plays well with the other dogs in her foster home and is a sweetheart with people. On her last weight check she was 47lbs but could stand to gain a couple pounds. She has a medium length coat (not short like a lab but not a true long coat either!). She really is a sweet, sweet dog! Adoption fee $300.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pixie, a Darlington Labrador Retriever/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie for sale in Darlington, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Darlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Darlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Darlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Border Collie breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Darlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
