My name is Merida and I am a beautiful Lab/Shepherd mix girl who is only a year old and already I have had a litter of puppies. I was dropped off at a very small and dirty shelter with my pretty puppies who are all black like me. I was terrified and spent some time in a kennel outside just trying to sort things out with my life. My new foster mom Diane took me home and allowed me to be part of her inside home life and I blossomed into this smiling and devoted girl. At just 50 pounds, I will make a great medium sized family companion who knows how to walk on a leash, mind my manners in the house and spend time in a crate as needed. I get along with the cat, other dogs and I adore people and human love. I am still a little shy when I first meet new people but I have come from being terrified to even see a leash in your hand, to being accepting of you putting it on my collar and walking me…that’s progress! All I need is a little more time to figure this all out and in time I will be totally comfortable that life is going to be great from here on out. Oh the story I could tell if I could talk! I am overcoming my shyness every day and have learned that I would love to lie in your lap. I am mostly house trained and crate trained.
