Annie's Story...
"Are you looking for a sweetheart who loves to cuddle? I sure hope so, because I'm looking for one, too! I'm a quiet, loving, and good-natured Chihuahua who would be an excellent lap dog. I'm about eight years old, and you'll be happy to know that I've already had a professional teeth cleaning. I've got an endearing smile with a cheerful personality, and I've been very quiet here at the shelter. I like to go for walks, and I enjoy spending time with other nice doggies. I'd be a wonderful little family dog in a home where the kids are older and considerate of me. Also, MY ADOPTION FEE IS ONLY $30. The fee includes my spay, microchip, and my current basic shots. That's a pretty good bargain for a delightful pooch like me. I sure hope you'll come visit me soon! I'm waiting for you here at the El Cajon Animal Shelter, so please ask the helpful staff to take us out to the play yard so we can get better acquainted. Love, Annie" Kennel #33

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Annie, a El Cajon Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
