I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Rocket's Story...
Rocket is a 3 year-old (approx DOB 4/2013) male black/tan Dachshund; he came to us from an area shelter where his stay was coming to an end. Rocket is a typical active young Dachshund; his favorite foster playmate is Anna, a 3 year-old female pit mix. When Rocket came to us, he was quite fearful; now he’s ready to play and go forth! Rocket is crate-trained, up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. He weighs about 25 pounds and is great on leash. Is your family the right match for this active little dog?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocket, a Cross Roads Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Cross Roads, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Cross Roads.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cross Roads already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cross Roads breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cross Roads paves the way for another one to be saved.
