Rusty's Story...
Rusty is a rusty red male miniature Dachshund approximately 2 years old; he came to us from an area shelter after his previous owner no longer wanted him. He is one happy boy and will make a great addition to any family! Rusty is great with other dogs, large or small, and children; he is housebroken and crate-trained. Rusty is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and on heartworm prevention; he was treated for heartworm disease in early August 2015, shortly after his rescue. He weighs about 15 pounds and is great on leash or off. Rusty only desires to be with his humans; joy oozes from his soul! Is your family the right match for this wonderful dog?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a Cross Roads Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Cross Roads, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Cross Roads.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cross Roads already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cross Roads breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cross Roads paves the way for another one to be saved.
