Cricket's Story...
Miss Cricket was surrendered to a kill shelter in rural TN....and we can't figure out why! She is a sweet girl who loves to snuggle. Cricket is about 2 years old, 10 pounds and a little on the shy side right now - we think she might just be a little sad that her whole world was turned upside down. What she doesn't know yet is that we are looking for a wonderful family to adopt her! Her ideal family is someone who might be home quite a bit, maybe a work from home parent, a retired person or even someone who can take her to work with them. Cricket is fine with other dogs but really wants to be near her person. We suggest no young children (under 5) only because she's a little scared right now. Cricket is in foster care in West TN and will be transported once her adoption is finalized. If you'd like to show Cricket love and patience and give her a loving home, please visit out website at www.goofyfootrescue.org and fill out an online application.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Staunton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Staunton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
