Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kari is a 2-3 year old Hound mix. She has a beautiful snow white coat marked with black patches and speckles. Kari is a gentle, good natured dog who is a great walking companion. She loves her dog friends. She is learning to respond to the doggy language to understand when another dog wants a rest from playing. She loves to play ball and is such a doll.
Kari is back with us in rescue, needing a more dog savvy forever home. Kari recently worked with a trainer who thinks Kari is a good dog who picks things up extremely fast. She has done well with the children she has met - school age and up and also a toddler who was able to give her treats and pet her. She wanted to play with the cats she met and seemed friendly with them. When one of them swatted her she backed right off.
She is a little bossy around food so needs to learn that she will always be fed consistently now and doesn't need to worry about her meals being taken from her. She takes treats gently and will show off with sit, down and is learning recall and shaking paws.
Kari was rescued by our southern partner shelter after she was found stray and never claimed. That's a pretty typical scenario in the south, but someone is missing out on a great dog!
Kari needs good leadership and a good amount of exercise to keep her happy and healthy. She is a wonderfully sweet girl! Kari is being fostered in York County, Maine while she waits for her forever family to find her.

Please note, we do not have a physical facility where our dogs are housed, they are cared for in our network of wonderful foster homes throughout New England. If you find a dog you would like to meet, our expectation is that, once approved, you will travel to meet the dog in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
