My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Robin. I am a 5-year-old spayed female Terrier mix. I weigh about 41 pounds.

Aside from being super, duper cute, I also happen to be a very sweet pup. I'm not a very confident dog and it does take me some time to warm up to new people, but once I feel like I can trust you I am all about kisses. It's my way of showing you how much I appreciate your kindness.

By looking at my photos, it's pretty evident why I am a little on the shy side. I obviously wasn't loved or cared for in my previous home. I never knew the comforts of a warm bed and a soft pillow to rest my tired head on. Heck, I never knew what it was like to be clean and pest-free until now.

Can you imagine having so many ticks feasting on your body that they had no where else to go but on your eyelids? True story! My previous owner treated my mom and I as though we were the scum of the earth and threw us out with the trash. Didn't care what happened to us or how much pain and discomfort we were in.

One day, our "caregiver" decided that keeping dogs in the yard and never paying any attention to them was way too much trouble. Animal Control was called and they came to retrieve us from our home to take us to a high-kill shelter in the area. We were so low on the priority list that our owner couldn't even take us to the shelter and instead chose to have us picked up!!

Once we arrived at the shelter the staff attempted to remove as many ticks as they could from us both. Unfortunately, I had so many ticks around my eyes that I had to be sedated so they could be removed. And, that's not the worst part! They were unable to remove all the ticks because I was bleeding so much. They had no choice but to leave some.

We spent about 2 weeks at the shelter before CageFree came to our rescue. I could not have been happier when I heard the news that we would never be someone's lawn ornament again. They have promised to find us a forever home where we will be indoor dogs and will receive all the love and attention we deserve.

My mom and I are looking for a home together. We've been through a lot in our lives and it would be devastating for us to lose each other after all this time. We are definitely a bonded pair and cannot be separated.

If you are looking for two really amazing, sweet, loving dogs that will be your constant companions then we are the pair for you. Since being at CageFree I have been doing really well. I'm starting to come out of my shell more and more each day. I'm a great dog that just needs someone to allow me to go at my own pace. My mom is super outgoing despite our history and I am slowly learning to follow in her footsteps.

If you think we would make a great addition to your family, please don't hesitate to contact CageFree to tell them you want to schedule a time to come and meet us. We are so excited to put our past behind us and find our forever home!
