Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Arrrooooooo!!! That’s right, just like that along with a slightly higher pitched tone since I’m still a puppy (I’m still growing into my big boy voice). I’m Hank and I am a 1 year old Tri Colored Beagle puppy. I was found as a stray in Ohio and the loving folks from Midwest BREW came to my rescue. I was covered in fleas and ticks along with some Demodex (mange), however I am free of all of that and ready to find my forever family!
A little about me – I LOVE to play and that’s a given of course because I am still a puppy BUT I can entertain myself with a ball, plush toy or bone if the other pups won’t play with me. Sometimes I’ll just run around the yard without a toy at all and try to tag my foster brothers and sisters to get them to play with me. Sometimes they will and other times they won’t. That’s OK with me though, I just keep going round and round until I tire myself out. Once I’m done, I’ll stretch out on the grass and chill out for a little while until I get my energy back up. Don’t worry though I do know how to relax and unwind after playtime is over with. Oh, and I’m not quite sure what this “let’s go for a walk” thing is all about. All I know is that when I get my harness on I’m ready to bolt out of the door, so hold on tight. I’m getting better, however there is no time to go potty. Once my nose hits the ground I’m on a mission to sniff everything! We’ll need to work on me going potty on the leash some more. Foster mom keeps telling me I’m such a good boy and that she loves me so much. I get hugs and belly rubs all of the time and I love all of the attention! I love to get on the couch and snuggle at the end of the day.
I am for the most part housetrained too (double bonus for a puppy!). I’ve had a couple of accidents so foster mom helps guide me back outside to do my business. After playtime is the most important time of all to make sure I “go” especially when we’re inside playing. I’m also crate trained. When foster mom goes to work, I go into my “house” with a couple of toys and some water and I’m good to go. I don’t mind it since all we do is sleep all day anyway. When foster mom comes home, we all line up at the door and bolt outta there like rockets! It’s fun, fun, fun! I eat like a champ; yep, and I’m not food aggressive at all. I take treats like a little gentleman too. Wow, I sound pretty perfect if you ask me! Foster mom has gone back and forth as to whether or not allow me up on the bed for bedtime. Well, she did and I LOVED it! I took my spot and didn’t move or make a sound all night. I felt like one of the pack sleeping with my 3 other foster brothers and sister. I have also slept in my crate at night so either will work for me I just love to be by my humans. Oh, there are 2 cats here too; seniors ones and I get along with them just fine. I’m a bit curious with them, however I have not tried to hunt or chase them. The one guy finally came out from behind the gate and he lets me sniff and give him kisses too!
A note from Hank’s foster mom – Hank came to us a bit timid and shy. His tail was tucked under and he wasn’t sure how he fit into our pack. In less than 24 hrs, Hank decided it was time to make friends and he went for it; playing with everyone in the best way possible. We have some stubborn beagles here, and he has been able to lighten their hearts and show them how to have more fun with a puppy. Hank is a joy to have in our home. He has so much love to give. My musts for Hank are that he have at least one other pup in the home and a fenced in yard so he can release all of the energy he builds up throughout the day. Hank has not been around small children, however has interacted with a 9 and 10 year old just fine. If you’re looking for a gentle little pup that will melt your heart, Hank is the one for you!
