My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jake. His favorite place to be is wherever you are.
Jake loves to get attention from his people. Want to rub his head and scratch his shoulders while you hang out? You got it. Want some company while you do housework? He’ll be there to “help.” When he’s not following you around, he'll settle down on a soft bed (or turn a throw rug into a bed) and take a nap.
Jake shares his foster home with a 9-year-old female beagle and five cats. He shares toys, beds, and other goodies with the resident beagle. He’s uninterested in the cats, and will back off if one of the more bossy cats decides that his “space” should be hers. On walks, he notices other dogs and he's polite and well-mannered. However, he's not very interested in playing with other dogs, so he'd do well best as the only dog in the home or as a companion to a respectful, low-energy companion.
Jake is housebroken and crate trained. When people are home, he has the run of the house; he goes in his crate when he has to stay home alone. He's good on leash - his beagle nose means he's easily distracted by interesting (or awful) smells, but it's easy to get his attention back. He has an impressive vocabulary of sounds, including a unique “Hoot!” that likes to use when he’s excited. Overall, he's a quiet, well-behaved boy (well, except when he rifles through trash cans looking for tasty things).
Jake's about 10 years old, about 36 pounds, and has no special needs.
