My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Happy. She is a one year old very active girl. Happy is a beautifully marked tri-color with a semi rough coat. We is aptly named "Happy" because that is just what she is and with her personality. She is still a puppy and is learning discipline. She is learning to walk better on a leash. She is fine with other dogs, but she can play kind of rough, as she is still very puppy like. She can become somewhat over bearing with her toys when she plays. Happy is a typical youngster who would rather play than learn her lessons. However, Happy wants to please and an obedience class is in her near future.

Happy would do best with a very active family that either runs every day or does some kind of active exercise. This girl has energy to burn! As with most border collies, she also needs a job to do and would most unhappy as a backyard dog watching life go by. Happy comes in and out of the house. She is learning her house manners, and she is on her way to being housebroken. She’s not 100% there yet, but she’s getting close to being there. She loves kids, but would do best with older ones because she is so active she might knock a little one down. Because she is still so much still a puppy, she is a little "mouthy" in that she wants to put her mouth on everything, but, that is being discouraged and she is learning well.

Happy's adopters must be committed to work with the destruction and energy associated with raising a puppy, along with housebreaking accidents. As with all puppies, socialization and puppy obedience classes are a must. This will ensure that you will have an outgoing, socialized, well behaved, and well adjusted adult dog in your family.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
