Meet Boomer!
Boomer is an approximately 6-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer mix (our best guess!!). He has big, goofy ears to match his big, goofy personality!

Boomer weighs approximately 60 pounds. He has the cutest black spots all over the inside of his legs and on his belly!! He is currently living in a home with three dogs, a cat, a 1-year-old boy and 7-year-old girl. He has done great with everyone. He will play with other dogs if they want to play, but will leave them alone if they don't.

He knows basic commands like come, sit, down, and stay. His foster family is working on shake and roll over. Boomer is respectful of the children and takes treats gently. He does not jump up on the kids and he tries to watch his tail so he doesn't hit them with it. Boomer enjoys going for walks and walks nicely on the leash. Boomer LOVES toys and LOVES fetch. Someone taught him to play tug, so his foster family is working on the command 'drop.' He has jumped in the pond, so he doesn't mind water.

Boomer is generally pretty chill, but will get spurts of energy and run around with his toys in typical "zoomie" style. He has the boxer play style down pat. He likes his crate and goes in there to sleep sometimes, but he does not need to be crated when his family is not home. He is not destructive (except toys!!!!!) and is 100% housebroken. Boomer is a good watch dog and will bark when someone comes to the house (and sounds pretty darn intimidating!!) but he is friendly with everyone he has met, so don't expect him to ACTUALLY guard your house. ;-)

Boomer is a good boy who would be a great companion for pretty much any family out there. Could it be yours?

Boomer’s adoption fee is $150 and he is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
