Takara's Story...
Hi, I'm Takara! I was just 4 weeks old when a woman found me huddled by the fence in her backyard. Afraid that her dog might hurt me, the woman turned to a neighbor for help. Fortunately, that neighbor was with Animal Rescue Connections and was able to take me into foster care.

My foster mother says I quickly lived up to my name, which means jewel or treasure. While I'm a little shy of new kitties, I just love human attention! I like all toys and enjoy talking back when spoken to. Once I warm up to new kitties, I really enjoy wrestling and chasing others around the house.

I also love little soft toys I can carry in my mouth. But once I'm tired of playing, I love to snuggle and purr, especially when you're sleeping. Won't you take me home today to be part of your family?

Purrs, Tortie Treasure.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Takara, a Bulverde Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bulverde, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Bulverde.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bulverde already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bulverde breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bulverde paves the way for another one to be saved.
