Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Julia's Info...

I am already spayed, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, and not good with kids.

Julia's Story...
Julia is a older girl who doesn't know she's old! She still has lots of silliness and energy, and loves to play with her toys (she loves tossing her Kong in the air and chasing it as it bounces around the room). Like many Chihuahuas, Julia is a one-man dog. She bonds very closely with her person and is pretty much solely focused on them. As a result, she'd do best in a one or two person household without a lot of kids around (older teenagers and adults would be ideal for her). Julia can take a little bit of time to get to know you, but bonds fiercely with her favorite people and will be a loyal companion to her adopter for the rest of her days!

Julia was born in August of 2005 and weighs about 9.5lbs. She appears to do well with other calm dogs. For more information about this animal, email: Go to our website at and look under the Adoptions menu for information on how to adopt an animal.

If you have questions about our dogs or adoption process, the quickest way to get more information is to call our front desk at 630-355-2299. You can also visit us online at and look under the Adoptions menu or email our adoption counselors at

The first step of the process is to stop by our shelter anytime during adoption hours to meet the animals and talk with an adoption counselor to find the pet who’s the right fit for your family. After selecting an animal to adopt, the adoption counselor can place the pet “on hold” for you for a couple of days while we process your application; we’ll talk to your references, have our medical team review the pet’s file to make sure they’ve had all their vaccines & have been microchipped, and tie up any loose ends to get the animal ready to go home. After you’ve been approved, we’ll call to schedule a time for you to pick up your new pet!

(If you currently have a dog, we would ask that you please leave them at home during your initial visit. Once you've picked out an animal and placed a hold, the adoption counselor will help you schedule an appointment to come back with your dog for an introduction at a later time).

Our shelter is located at 420 Industrial Drive in Naperville, IL, and our adoption hours are:

Monday & Wednesday: Closed
Tuesday 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Thursday 12:00 – 8:00 pm
Friday 12:00 – 5:00 pm
Saturday and Sunday 12:00 – 3:00 pm

Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Julia, a Naperville Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Naperville, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Naperville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Naperville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Naperville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Naperville paves the way for another one to be saved.
