Ash's Story...
Ash is now ready to find his forever home. He is a bit of a shy guy & he's looking for an adult-only home with someone who understands him and can help him blossom into the wonderful kitty that he is becoming. Ash was born as part of a feral litter and did not have any human contact until he was about 7 weeks old. When he first came into our care he was very scared of people, but despite that, he was always the first of his siblings to try new things and accept pets. When he's afraid he doesn't lash out at all, he simply hunkers down and freezes, hoping no one will notice him. When you do reach out and pick him up he immediately begins purring, and what a loud purr he has!

Ash absolutely loves to play and he if you see him while he's playing, you'd never know that he's a little shy. He loves to "hunt" string toys and will carry them around with him. He also really enjoys wrestling with his sister, Hazel. Ash and Hazel aren't really bonded and can be adopted separately, but they do enjoy each others company, and could go to a home together if you're interested in a pair of kittens.

Since Ash is still a bit nervous and is still learning how to trust in some situations, he needs to go to an adult-only home that has a quiet, relaxed atmosphere; he is not comfortable with children. He has not yet had experience with dogs, although he has spent time around other adult cats.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ash, a Saanichton Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Saanichton, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Saanichton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Saanichton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Saanichton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Saanichton paves the way for another one to be saved.
