BELLA's Story...
✰✰ BELLA, Female 1 yr of age, & AVAILABLE - for more photos of BELLA please click http://norcalbcrescue.org/BELLA2015 ✰✰

BELLA is a 12 months old medium-sized Border Collie mix. She has a short, easy care coat, and the cutest little bob tail! This is a young girl who just wants to have fun!! She was a stray who came into rescue actually pretty shy; however, she has made great progress at her foster home where she has quickly bonded with her foster mom. With lots of praise, encouragement, and a calm voice, BELLA has overcome her initial withdrawn demeanor. While she can be somewhat shy when meeting strangers, she seems to really want to be around people and wants to find love!

Being only a year old, BELLA still displays puppy like antics and has lots of good, fun, playful energy. BELLA is very active; plenty of mental and physical stimulation will be a must for this girl! She is a smart dog and is very food motivated. Working with her should be fun. She responds well to your voice and seems to understand what is said to her. BELLA is learning basic commands from her foster mom and now also walks nicely on a leash. BELLA really loves to chase the water from the hose when her foster mom is in the garden, but has not had the opportunity to check out swimming (we suspect she will love it!). BELLA gets along well with other dogs, however, she can be submissive if overpowered by more dominant dogs. She has recently found her “big dog” voice but is not an obsessive barker. She only barks if frightened or if she feels the situation warrants it. She is housebroken and has not had one single accident in the house. She sleeps quietly through the night in her crate in the bedroom. She is wide awake first thing in the morning and ready to learn about her great big world!

BELLA would benefit from being with someone who will continue with her training and provide her with plenty of daily exercise. She needs someone who has the time and desire to work with her to build her confidence and let her develop into the proud dog that she is meant to be. With proper attention and care we are confident she will become a much appreciated and loved companion & family member for the lucky person or family that adopts her.

BELLA is micro-chipped, spayed, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (http://norcalbcrescue.org/adopt_info.html) and wish to enquire about BELLA, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. BELLA is being fostered in Nevada City in Nevada County, California.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

BELLA, a Corning Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Corning, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Corning.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Corning already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Corning breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Corning paves the way for another one to be saved.
