My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Josie and I’m an eighteen year old Congo African Gray. I love to talk, as a
matter of fact, my vocabulary is way too long to list. I can speak in a masculine and a feminine
voice. Sometimes very soft and sweet, and other times very stern. I mimic many sounds, and can
whistle very loud, so no apartments or homes with close neighbors that might not like my sounds. I especially like to converse with my four legged pets. I tell them to "come on" or "get outside" to name a few. My favorite thing in the world is my toys, and believe me, I can go through the biggest of toys in the blink of an eye. So, my new parents need to make sure to keep plenty of
toys on hand to keep me entertained. My Foster Mom was told that I haven't been handled in many years, so right now, I'm not very trusting of humans. I don’t mind people being around me, but I'm not comfortable being handled yet. My foster mom and I are working on that. I do ask for head scratches and sometimes will put my head down for a scratch or I may just tell you "no.” I will, however very gently take treats right from your fingers, and will even ask "Got something yummy?" I have been converted from a seed diet to pellets, fruits, veggies and healthy nuts.
When I'm afraid, I will tell you in my sweet little voice, "It's ok, just go slow.” That one will make your heart melt!
