Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Our sweet Charlotte is 18 months old and 12 lbs of beauty and light. Everyone at the high-kill shelter in Houston saw it...a wisdom and kindness that far exceeded her time on earth. There was no question that Charlotte had to be saved from certain euthanasia and be a recipient of the coveted transport ticket to a new life in Colorado. She passed her temperament testing and vetting like a champ and traveled 26 hours into the arms of her thrilled new family. They fell in love immediately (how could they not?) and brought Charlotte home with every expectation of a long life with their sweet new love.
It wasn't meant to be. After a heartbreaking appointment with a cardiologist, Farfel's received the following email from Charlotte's family:
My family is heartbroken at Charlotte/Snicker's diagnosis. She is truly the perfect dog...a true dream come true. She is a friendly, social, affectionate and fun-loving 1.5 year old girl. She loves hanging out with our family, having her belly and ears scratched and playing with her toys. She also enjoys short walks and playing fetch. Snickers adapted very quickly to our family and is so social! She loves meeting new people and dogs. She sleeps well all night and is completely housebroken.
We fully intended to adopt Snickers, but learned this week that she has aortic valvular stenosis--probably something she was born with and unfortunately there is no cure for. Sadly, the cardiologist believes that Snickers only has 6 months to a year left on this earth. Our family will miss this sweet girl and hope that someone could give her the love that she deserves for whatever life she has left. Our family lost our last pet after he was a part of our family for ten years. It would be very hard to lose another family member so soon.
Farfel's is searching for a special individual or family. They will have the ability to live in the moment and enjoy and smile at this amazing spirit while she is happy and so full of life. They will also have the intuition and strength of heart to let her go when her quality of life no longer supports her joy and independence.
We welcome your kind inquiries regarding our wonderful girl. We will be happy to set up a Meet and Greet with Charlotte...we think your experience will be like ours. This being, with so much love to share will be a joy as well as a teacher every day that she's blessed with life. When she leaves...she'll be memories and smiles remembering a time when a light was shining so brightly just for a while.
If this beautiful and wise Cockapoo touches your heart, please call us at Farfel's at 303-443-7711...we'd love nothing more than to brag about our lovely girl.
