My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlie's adoption fee is $250.

Charlie is a 20 lb, 9 year old Coton de Tulear mix. He has a soft, cottony coat that is hypo-allergenic. He enjoys regular, gentle brushing to keep his coat soft and clean. (Surprisingly, his coat stays very nice and white with regular brushing). Charlie is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and micro chipped. He’s house trained given frequent outings, and loves to spend lots of time with his owners and to go for walks (he’s also really enjoyed trips to our cottage). Charlie enjoys cuddling on the couch and to be petted, but won’t pester you for attention. He has his silly moments, but is normally very calm and quiet. He loves to nap and to sleep on your bed. Thankfully, he’s a quiet sleeper and doesn’t hog the blankets! He isn’t able to jump onto the bed, but will give a discreet “sneeze” to let you know that he wants up. Charlie will give a couple of barks when someone knocks at the door, or a single bark to get your attention. He has lived with another dog, and enjoys meeting and greeting dogs on his walks. He does well in the car, and has been fine with school aged children who are gentle and kind.

Charlie does become attached, and will need a week or two to settle into a new home. Initially he will be very subdued, lose his interest in food and bark when left alone. As he becomes more comfortable with his new family, you will see the difference with tail wagging, wanting belly rubs, eating regularly and not barking when being left alone on occasion. He will need some gentle but firm discipline, and we feel he would be best suited to a home with an experienced owner who is at home most of the time, and he would also enjoy a gentle, laid back canine companion. If you feel that Charlie might be a good match, he would love to be your new best friend!
