My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When Carson's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the adorable (and extremely dirty and matted) Carson tucked tightly into a cage...his time was up. Farfel's immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this Terrier is..and the need to save his life. We immediately agreed and Carson became a very treasured Farfel's dog. He earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with his great temperament that held every possibility for a great future.

At just 18 - 24 months old and 13 lbs, this very beautiful pup is a blank slate waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best dog he's capable of being. We'd love to match Carson to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable guy. He's a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere...and would love it.

Positive reinforcement group obedience class will not only provide socialization and great skills...but will cement the relationship between Carson and his family. He's so smart that he's a natural to succeed in learning his skills...and would be so excited at his success!

Carson gets lots of attention when he's out and about...he's engaging (while a bit shy at first) and as sweet as can be. He's also extremely eye-catching...he appears to be a Cairn/Norfolk.. but we would never swear to it. He's just an adorable and fun scruffy Terrier that's irresistible!

When Carson turns that gentle look in your direction (with those amazing dark and expressive eyes), you can't help but smile at his adorable ways. You can see a bit of a sign that this young pup has had difficult times. But not for him to be negative..a smile and a wag is more Carson's style. It's clear that he is working on leaving any pain behind.

Farfel's Rescue is searching for an adult family for Carson. It''s not that he actively doesn't like young kids..it just appears that Carson is more comfortable and braver around adult energy. A retired couple or individual would be perfect for this guy. He would thrive on the time and attention that retirees often put into their pets. Carson, once bonded, will be a loyal and positive companion....that makes him very easy to spend time with just enjoying the wonders of life in Colorado. Carson would also enjoy time with dogs of similar size who can be gentle playmates. When you're only 13 lbs, even a very well-adjusted puppy can be intimidated by large, rambunctious dogs
.
We have posted new photos of Carson at his Texas foster home. He's so grateful being out of the shelter that there's almost a smile on his beautiful face. Carson is a very happy guy once he's comfortable...a bit of patience, treats and belly rubs will truly get this guy's attention as he's had far too little of all in his life. Carson's foster mom is very happy to report that Carson is coming out of his shell more each day...he's blossoming. She's very clear that Carson will be a wonderful and bonded family member when he has love and nurturing as a part of his life.

Carson will be arriving on transport in Boulder on 8/28/15. Applications are being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
