My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Do you hate reading? Do you need a good excuse for not turning in your homework? Do you need to exercise more? Do you love beagles with personality and energy to spare? If you answered yes to at least three of these questions, then we have a beagle boy for you!

Lance is a mischievous beagle who likes to chew when he is bored, so if you have homework or books to get rid of, he’s a fantastic pup to have around. Even though he is high energy, he is one of the sweetest pups you’ll ever meet and he is gorgeous too! He loves to snuggle, give kisses, get belly rubs, and take long walks. He also loves to play with both dogs and humans and is quite adept at his rope fetching skills. He’s surprisingly coordinated and when humans or canines are busy, he can entertain himself by chewing on bones, ropes, and Kongs. His favorite toy right now is a water buffalo horn; he plays with it for hours by chewing on it or dropping it to make a fun noise.

Lance has recently discovered his nose, so he is a puller on the leash. Squirrels and rabbits can hear his cute bay and run for cover when he gets close. Lance is a little taller and a jumper so when he chases squirrels up trees, he will try and jump to get to them. For a skinny boy, he is well muscled and strong. Some volunteers think he may have foxhound or coonhound mixed in with the beagle

Foster Note: Lance is still working on his housetraining, but he’s getting better. He will not do all his business on his walks, so he must have a fenced in yard to avoid additional accidents. He suffers a little from separation anxiety which makes him chew on things he shouldn’t, so we are working to crate train him. With all his quirks, you won’t meet a sweeter dog. He’s absolutely adorable and with training and patience will make a fantastic addition to the right family. He’ll need lots of exercise, so a playful doggy companion or children are a must.
